Admission Policies

Refunds

  • No refunds or exchanges from the American Cinematheque for tickets. All sales final.
  • No exchanges includes different dates or showtimes for the same film. 
  • The American Cinematheque will provide refunds or offer vouchers ONLY in the rare instance a screening is canceled. (Programs subject to change without notice. This includes live guests). 
  • If there is an issue with the technical presentation (such as a sound defect or a faded print) you may request a voucher from the manager if you exit the theatre within 15 minutes of the start time

 

General Policies

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
  • As of November 21, 2022 the American Cinematheque no longer requires proof of vaccination for entry. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public places; by visiting you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
  • Program subject to change without notice. This includes live guests.  
  • No texting, talking or cellular devices: No talking, texting or use of cellular devices during the event. If you are disruptive or use electronics, you will be removed immediately from the theatre. Cell phones and other mobile/recording devices must be turned off during shows.
  • Guests will NOT be admitted to the theater once the movie or event has started.
  • Personal recording devices: No photography, video or audio recording is permitted without prior consent from the American Cinematheque. This includes live introductions and Q&As.
  • Filming or photographing the screen during a film is strictly prohibited and is punishable by law.
  • No smoking or vaping.
  • The American Cinematheque permits Service Animals into the theatres, per ADA and state guidelines. For further details please visit www.ADA.gov. No animals permitted whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support, under ADA guidelines and CA Health Code.
  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
  • No autographs: If we do not advertise a book signing or autograph session, there are no autographs allowed.
  • The following items are prohibited:
    • Outside food or drink
    • Any items deemed inappropriate or dangerous by American Cinematheque staff or security, at their discretion.
    • Laser pointing devices

Regular Programs:

  • $13 General
  • $12 Seniors 65+ & Students (with valid I.D. only)
    • Student and Senior tickets are sold in person at the box office ONLY and not online; Students must show a valid current student I.D.. Seniors must show a valid state-issued I.D. card or driver’s license.
  • $8 American Cinematheque Members

Voucher / Courtesy Tickets:

  • Vouchers / Courtesy Tickets are only accepted for regular-priced shows ONLY.
  • Vouchers / Courtesy Tickets can only be redeemed at the Theatre Box Office on the day of show.
  • Vouchers / Courtesy Tickets cannot be used for shows that have already sold out online.  Check event page for details.

Box Office

  • Cash and major credit cards only.
  • Aero Theatre Box office hours: Opens approximately 90 minutes before the first program of the day; remains open until 30 minutes after the last show of the day begins. Subject to change. The box office is only open on days when there is an American Cinematheque program and only sells tickets at the theatre where the event is taking place. 
  • Los Feliz 3 Box office hours: Opens approximately 30 minutes before the first program of the day; remains open until 30 minutes after the last show of the day begins. Subject to change. The box office is only open on days when there is an American Cinematheque program and only sells tickets at the theatre where the event is taking place. 
  • Advance online tickets are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online for both Cinematheque members and general admission on the American Cinematheque website. Processing fees will apply. Please visit the American Cinematheque’s calendar to find tickets to any event listing. 
  • For pre-purchased tickets: Please have your order confirmation email open on your mobile device. Our staff will check your mobile ticket at the door. You can also print your confirmation at home and bring it with you. 
  • You may also bring the credit card you used to purchase your ticket. FOR BOX OFFICE REDEMPTION ONLY. 
  • If you purchase multiple tickets and your party is arriving separately, we suggest that the person holding the receipt obtains printed tickets from the box office and leaves these tickets in the other guest’s names. Mobile tickets or print at home tickets can be scanned only once.

Seating

  • Seating is Unreserved.
  • Doors Open 60 minutes before showtime at the Aero Theatre and 30 minutes before showtime at the Los Feliz 3. Subject to change. Members of the American Cinematheque have priority entrance. Subject to change. 
  • The American Cinematheque runs a standby line for all sold-out shows, unless otherwise indicated.

Free Programs or Member Screenings

  • RSVP for all free events or member screenings does not guarantee seating. First-come, first-served basis.
  • Member screenings are for American Cinematheque members only. Learn more about becoming a Member today!

American Cinematheque Membership

  • To join online, click here. Ticket discounts are valid immediately.
  • Members must show their Member cards and present a valid photo I.D. at the box office when purchasing tickets and/or using the Members’ priority entrance line.
